Primary instructor and owner Miguel Angel Torres has an extensive mixed martial arts career, winning various titles in the many organizations that he has fought in, including becoming one of the best mixed martial arts artists in the world with his World Extreme Cagefighting title. Torres' main goal for creating his marital arts academy and training center is to offer anyone in his community the kind of world class marital arts instruction he wanted growing up. When Torres’ was a child, he had a passion for marital arts and wanted to train but there were not many places to learn boxing, American style kickboxing, tae kwon do, karate or Muay Thai in his neighborhood.

Seeking training wherever he could find it led Torres to train with many different trainers, fighters and black belt artists. As he began his MMA career at 18 years old, his level of training and fight experiences put him in line to have experienced trainers and training partners. He has trained under some of the greatest teams in the mixed martial arts world and even earned a black belt under one of the greatest pioneers and legends of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and vale tudo: Carlson Gracie Sr.

Teaching and mentoring his students for the last 18 years, Torres has been able to maintain his impressive mixed martial arts career while maintaining one of the most experienced and victorious martial arts academies in the Northwest Indiana/Chicagoland areas. Torres, who is now retired from competing in mixed martial arts, has his eyes focused and heart set on making his academy a beacon of hope and strength for those who want to be a part of something special, feeling like a second family. Hoping to pass on his world class experiences and knowledge to all who want to learn, Miguel now dedicates his time to training his students and helping them accomplish their personal goals.
